Forgive Me

Dangle my redemption

From a night sky.

Let me try and reach.

The black will seem so much

 Closer and comforting

Than it really is.

The only thing holding me back

Will be gravity.

The weight of the need for forgiveness in

My stomach will pull me to the ground.

I can not change the way the

World is.

I can not reach my redemption.

I never will.

The guilt will flay my insides like

Razor blades

Swallowed in despair.

This is it that will change me.

The unforgiving sky that holds my redemption between its fingers,

Teasing me.

The blades will cut me up

On the inside.

Flay my guts where the shame lays.

And the guilt will stay

As my body decays.
